Sr. Dorothy Stang’s life celebration continues

16th anniversary of the death of Sr. Dorothy Stang (SNDdeN)

Planting of trees by some Junior Secondary students 1

This was held at Notre Dame Girls’ Academy, Amoyo on February 18, 2021. It was led by the Principal of the school, Sr. Rita Ezekwem (SNDdeN).

Opening song: the song used was “I the Lord of sea and sky”

Scripture Reading: This was taken from Deuteronomy 28:1-6 and was read by one of the associates of SNDdeN, Mrs. Afolayan

Reflection: This was led by the Principal of the school

Commitment pledge: This was done by all the staff, students, associates present and the SNDdeN Sisters at NDGA, Amoyo.

Commemoration: For the fact that NDGA, Amoyo is in the semi-arid zone of Nigeria which is at present faced with isolated issues of desertification, the school summed up the anniversary celebration with the planting of trees, a sign of our commitment to the care of the earth same as the virtues Sr. Dorothy Stang upheld.

The planting of trees was done sequentially by: – the principal (Sr Rita Ezekwem, SNDdeN), management staff of NDGA, staff members at NDGA, Amoyo, NDGA-PTA, the various classes (JS 1 – SS 3)
