PUTTING SMILES ON THE FACES OF THE BELOVED OF GOD

Sisters of Notre Dame making known God’s goodness wherever they find themselves. Notre Dame Medical Centre, Amoyo, Kwara State celebrated Christmas for orphans, vulnerable and less privileged children, and other children that were born in the Centre during the yuletide.

The celebration started with Holy Mass officiated by the Bishop emeritus of Ilorin diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Ayo Maria Atoyebi, O.P.

During the celebration gifts ranging from food items, clothing and other valuable items were given out to the beneficiaries. Santa Claus was also there to entertain the children and gave them special gifts. Other children that were not born in the medical centre were also beneficiaries.

The Matron of the medical centre, Sr. Mary Bern Eboh, SNDdeN said that Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur since inception has a great passion for the poor and the Leadership of the Province is seeing that the poor are cared for. The option for the poor is very paramount in our ministries, she said.

According to the matron, the administration solicits for fund and items in order to pay the medical bills of those who may not have to money and also celebrate them at Christmas. The Catholic Men Organisation (CMO) and other kindhearted people contributed to the success of the celebration.

Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Medical Centre, Amoyo, Kwara State celebrated Christmas for all the children born at the centre since the beginning of 2007. in addition, some vulnerable people also received Christmas gifts such as clothing, food items, wheelchairs.

Many thanks to all the sisters working at the centre and to all those who made this possible. Christmas is a season of love and the sisters have done this to set the pace. God is the giver of gifts so let’s give to put a smile on someone’s face today.

OUR LADY HEALTH OF THE SICK CLINIC, EBELE- ESAN WEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Congratulations! A new ministry is up in Ebele, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State. Our Lady Health of the Sick Clinic was recently handed over to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur for management. The clinic will be headed by Sr. Perpetua Iribhogbe, SNDdeN. The bishop of Uromi diocese, Rt. Revd. Donatus Ogun trust the capability of the Congregation. The clinic was an annex of St. Camillus hospital at Uromi, Edo State. The bishop deemed it necessary to hand over the clinic to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur for effective running and proximity. The Congregation runs a Nursery and Primary school for the diocese in the next town, Ogwa.
