Sharing the Joy of Christmas with the Less Privileged
The joy of Christmas is incomplete until you have shared it with friends…. The pupils of Our Lady’s N/P and Secondary school shared their joys of Christmas with their friends at the kwara State school for special Needs today. Gifts even when small enlivens the heart of the recipient.
The beauty of Christmas is sharing. The children are happy to share the little they have with other children. It is good to inculcate the spirit of sharing in children now. It will help them be better persons in the future.
The Anniversary of the Canonisation of Saint Julie Billiart (1969-2019), the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur
Sisters, Associates, Co-workers and Friends celebrate the anniversary of the Canonisation of the Sainthood of Saint Julie Billiart. Sr. Chukwunelo Ochi dresses like St. Julie. A tree is planted to mark the event. Sisters, Associates, Friends and Co-workers cut the anniversary cake. Mr. Christopher Uzougwu signs the commitment register after renewing his commitment. FIRST AND FINAL VOWS – 2019
The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur is ever grateful to God for the gift of newer members. Sisters Uche Agbo and Chika Asogwu made their first vows while Sisters Lucy Anaele and Rachel Inusa made their final commitment in the Congregation. We, your sisters in the Congregation welcome you to our home, Notre Dame de Namur.
May Saint Julie Billiart our foundress pray, protect and bless you as we all struggle to live out our Charism – The Goodness of God wherever we find ourselves.

NOTRE DAME GIRLS’ ACADEMY (NDGA), AMOYO, KWARA STATE, NIGERIA
THIRD INTER- HOUSE SPORT AT NDGA
Traditionally and like other institutions, Notre Dame Girls’ Academy had her 3rd Inter-House Competition. This great event took place on Saturday, March 16, 2019. The event began with the celebration of the Holy Mass. Among the dignitaries were the bishop of Ilorin diocese- Ayo Maria Atoyebi, the assistant administrator of the St. Joseph Cathedral, Rev. Fr. Christopher Atoyebi, who was also the Chief-celebrant, Rev. Fr. Rowland Nwosu and also Rev. Fr. LInus Mbanyi. Also present were the PTA Chairman, Engnr. Olumide Coker, the immediate past chairman- Architect Ganna, Surveyor Bamidele, Associate Prof. Olumorin and some others. The loving parents of NDGA were also not left out as they came to witness the wonderful and skillful performances of their beautiful daughters.
After the invitation of the guests to the high table, the esteemed and fabulous NDGA band girls were invited for their display. They matched in, in a grand style, and led the National Anthem as well as the school anthem. The Principal, Rev. Sr. Rita Ezekwem, SNDdeN gave her speech while the band played the National Salute as the Principal rounded off her speech. The band girls played a final beat as they matched out of the field. This was followed by the march pass by all houses during which His Lordship received the honorary salute from the students. He was flanked by the principal, Sr. Rita Ezekwem and the P.T.A. Chairman, Engr. Olumide Coker.
The sports events were officially opened by the display of the cheerleaders. The various track and field events included 100m race, 4 x 100m (Relay race) by NDGA students and invited schools, sack race, egg race, filling the basket, filling the bottle, threading the needle, staff race (males and females), parents’ race (males and females), Rev. Srs.’ Race, etc. The invited schools that participated were, the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College (boys and girls), Our Lady of Mt. Camel Secondary School, Oloje (boys and girls) and Our Lady’s Secondary School, Kulende (boys and girls).
There were other side attractions such as Fashion competition, Martial art, music display by music class and dance/choreography.
The Red house (St. Mary) emerged the overall winner. Trophies were presented to the first, second and third houses. Gifts were presented to all runners (parents, staff, sisters, and students). The invited schools were also presented with certificates.
The event was rounded off with a vote of thanks by the Sports Master, Mr. Oluleye Thomas Jetawo and a closing prayer led by Rev. Linus Mbanyi.
FINAL VOWS

It’s another year of final profession. These beautiful young women gave their one and only life to God in Notre Dame de Namur on August 11, 2o18. Thank God for their courage and God’s blessings on them always.
First Profession of Vows
Srs. Chukwunelo Ochi, Esther Ocheme, Janefrances Ijeoma, Juliana Aneke, Magella Anyanwu and Modesta Nnadi made their first vows on September 29, 2018. Thank God for the bold step they took to answer God’s call. We pray for them to be steadfast and faithful to the vows they made to God as they continue to discern their vocation in the Congregation. God is indeed good.
Dance
Dancing is one of things the sisters know how to do best. Without dance no joyful celebration is complete. So it is good to be joyful. Joy is a gift from God and need to be cherished. Dancing contribute to the joy the sisters feel. Come and join the sisters in their joy in dancing and spreading God’s message that God is indeed good.
Cleanliness
Apart from classroom education, we also educate the children on how to clean their environments. The sisters join in the cleaning and promoting healthy living.
